Worldwide Ranking of Press Freedom

Here you will find a Worldwide Ranking of Countries according to their score in reference to Freedom of the Press. In addition, the ranking that each country occupied in 2021 is compared with its actual position and is subdivided into Ranking according to political, legal, economic, social and safety context.

The Press Freedom Index is an annual indicator compiled and published by the non-governmental organization Reporters Without Borders.

The report is based on a questionnaire, sent to partner organizations (14 freedom of expression groups on five continents) and their 130 correspondents around the world, as well as to journalists, researchers, jurists and human rights activists. The questionnaire presents questions about direct attacks on journalists and the media, as well as other indirect sources of pressure against freedom of expression.
